Some Effective home Remedies are:

Ingredients: Hydrogen peroxide
Instructions:
The moment you start feeling funny (sore throat, tired, feverish, etc), fill the cap of a bottle of hydrogen peroxide with the liquid, lay down on your side, and pour it into one ear. After a few seconds, the liquid will bubble. Lay with the peroxide fizzing for 5 or 10 minutes, then shake the peroxide out. Repeat on the other ear. This home remedy cures colds that are already in progress - causing the symptoms to begin to clear up within a few hours.
Ingredients: Ginger tea
Instructions:
To bring relief to the common cold, drink ginger tea.
Ingredients: Honey, lemon
Instructions:
for a cold, mix four tablespoon of honey with the juice of one lemon. drink three times a day. note: not for children under six months old
Ingredients: Onion, honey
Instructions:
Slice one onion in half and remove the inner 8 or 9 layers. Pour honey into the cored onion. Place in refrigerator for 3 hours. Remove from refrigerator and take 3 teaspoons of the honey every 2 hours until cough subsides.
Ingredients: Apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
Boil water, add 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Add honey to taste, not too much though and as many shakes of Cayenne pepper as you can stand...the more the better. The heat in the cayenne pepper really helps soothe and get the virus out. This is very helpful in making a cough more productive.
Ingredients: 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper, 1/4 tsp powdered ginger, 1/4 tsp cloves, 1 T Apple cider vinegar, 1 T honey (or to taste), 2 T water
Instructions:
Mix together all ingredients and store. Take 3 tablespoon as needed.
Avoid dairy products during the cold, and reduce consumption after.
