A toothaches is caused by an inflammation of the pulp inside the tooth. The pulp is part of the inside of the tooth that has tissue and nerves. A toothache usually follows injury to the tooth.

The most common form of injury to the tooth is from dental caries, or a cavity. This is often a result of poor dental hygiene. A number of Home remedies has been used effectively to relieve the pain associated with toothaches.

Ingredients: Clove
Instructions:
Place a whole clove between the aching tooth and your cheek. It can be held in place by holding your finger on the outside of the cheek. Chew the cloves a little to release their juice, then leave them in place for half an hour or so or until the pain subsides.
Ingredients: Salt
Instructions: Combine two tablespoons of salt with one cup of boiling water; take a mouthful of water as hot as possible and slosh it around your mouth near the tooth; repeat as necessary.
Ingredients: Peroxide
Instructions:
Rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide. This will kill the infections causing the toothache.
Ingredients: Alcohol (vodka)
Instructions:
Dip finger in alcohol. Rub on tooth or put on a small piece of cotton and leave on tooth.
